Average annual income for two-or-more-person households is ¥9.552 million in Yokohama and ¥10.940 million in Kawasaki, a gap of about ¥1.39 million. We examine the role of Tokyo commuters, high-value employment in Kawasaki, dual-income households moving into Musashi-Kosugi, and Yokohama's large and diverse urban area.
